Time To Go

 



Wow!  Things have gone from way too slow to way too fast.  First, Gayle’s visa was finally approved on March 27th. Then we had to send our paperwork and passports to the embassy in Washington, DC to be stamped.  They came back from the PNG embassy this past Tuesday evening.  Next was airfare but the travel agent that usually arranges these trips was not available until next week.  So, our Kudjip friend, Katherine, had another experienced agent familiar with travel to Mount Hagen who arranged our flights, and we now have tickets to fly out Monday, April 10th. 

We have been on mission trips outside the United States before, but always with a leader, someone who knew what to expect, and what to do.  We are on our own this time, and it seems a daunting task to maneuver through multiple airports and keep up with the busyness in several different cultures as we make this first trip to Kudjip.

Thank God for praying friends and family!  We are thankful for and counting on our many supporters during this time. 

Our son, Ryan, is planning to take us to the airport in Grand Rapids.  The first leg of our trip starts there with a departure time of 3:55 Monday afternoon.  We then fly to Chicago, on to Doha, Qatar, next to Singapore, on to Port Moresby and finally up to Mount Hagen, with an arrival time scheduled for Thursday morning around 9:30 am.  Many airports, many connections, and many hours ahead.  The many stops do provide chances to stand up and let our legs straighten out for a bit. 

Please pray that our flights are on time and we make the connections, and that our baggage also has a successful trip to Kudjip.  We are looking forward to sending a message back that God has delivered us safely to the mission field, so we can give HIM the glory. 

Well, we had better finish packing!

END OF A CHAPTER

  Dear Family and Friends:   It has been a very long time since we have corresponded with you through our blog though we have had the privilege to talk and visit with many during the last few months. We apologize for the long delay of sharing an update.   Truth be told we have been as uncertain as to what we were going to do or what God had for us to do as you were. We came home from Papua New Guinea in June of 2023 with the full expectation that we would be returning to PNG in the beginning of the 2023 fall school year. Throughout our wait from June 2023 until August of 2024 we have had many delays, pauses, and uncertainty in situations which we have come to realize were God directed.   Though at the time we were frustrated, impatient and often wondered “what are we supposed to be doing?”.  LOSINGERS ON MISSION HISTORY :   Bob and Gayle Losinger have been married over 49 years.  Bob retired from teaching elementary school, and Gayle is a retired nurse.  They have two married sons and six grandchildren.  The Losingers have served in their local church, short term work & witness missions, Samaritan's Purse disaster relief and SOWER ministry.  This will be their first long term mission.   CALL : Pastor Tim Fall at the Clare Church of the Nazarene asked the Losingers to attend a mission conference to represent their church.  At the conference they heard Doctors Ben and Katherine Radcliffe speak.  They shared about an urgent need for a teacher for the missionary kids at the Kudjip, Papua New Guinea Nazarene Hospital MK School.  After praying about this need, Bob and Gayle applied and are in the process of getting visas to travel to PNG and serve.  Bob will teach at the school and Gayle will be an educational consultant for the hospital. SCHOOL'S OUT

We have arrived home after spending the past eight weeks in PNG.   Since the Missionary Kids school is out for “summer” and won’t resume until August our teaching commitment is fulfilled. It was a HUGE blessing to be part of a community where everyone was there to serve God.   Life was busy with responsibilities and duties to perform to keep the mission running smoothly.   However, the blessing that comes is knowing every missionary serving at the hospital was there to glorify God and advance His kingdom.   What a privilege to get a glimpse of what God wants everyone to live and experience. We are so grateful for being a very small part of what God is doing in PNG. The last week prior to leaving was a roller coaster of emotions: sadness to leave so many enjoyable students and their families, along with many new national friends and acquaintances, excitement about seeing our family, hopefulness that we can get beyond the Chikungunya Fever that we had our last week in PNG, uncertainty
