Greetings Friends and Family,

We recently read David’s prayer for Israel found in I Chronicles 29: 10-13 (NIV)…

Praise be to you, Lord, the God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting

Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,

for everything in heaven and earth is yours.

Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things.

In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.

It had been impressed upon our hearts to recognize that in and through all the circumstances of our lives that we continue to give glory and praise to God.  Since we started this journey back in May, 2022 He has walked with us by opening the doors and affirming in numerous ways that He is leading us.  We have often felt like a blind man by not seeing what God is doing but knowing that He is doing something that will bring glory to Him.  He has shown His faithful presence and direction multiple times and we are attempting to stay patient (though this is neither of our attributes) and follow His direction and wait for His timing of events.

At this time we are still waiting upon the PNG authorities for Gayle’s visa.  There has been no news for several weeks.  As you know Bob’s is completed and waiting for us to send to the PNG embassy here in the USA but we are holding on that step until both of our visas are granted.

We have been asked multiple times if we will still go to PNG this year since the school year is approaching the last three months of school.  We have reached out to leadership at the mission and it has been clearly stated that they desperately need another teacher even if only for a short time.  So we will wait upon God to work out what needs to be done and proceed to PNG when all the paperwork gets completed.

Our fellow missionaries in PNG continue to faithfully serve the people of Papua New Guinea despite being short-handed and finding it necessary to take up new responsibilities so the ministry can go forward.  They have had several recent challenges so if you would join us in praying for the missionary team that God will strengthen them and provide for them in abundant ways that would be greatly appreciated.  Pray for their health, strength, and encouragement as they serve the people and our Savior Jesus Christ.  Pray that workers will hear of the needs of the ministry and be led to join so the responsibilities can be lightened.

Normally in January and February we are serving somewhere in the states with the SOWER’s ministry.  Thinking that we would not be here this year we cancelled our commitments.  So in the meantime we are continuing to serve in various ways as opportunities arise while waiting.  We are also doing maple syrup in Bob’s sugar shack.  We have had a few spells of warmer weather which allows the sap to flow and we have prepared over two gallons of syrup at this time and may get more if we remain in Michigan.  We have enjoyed having our friends, Mark and Carrie, share this experience with us, which makes it fun!

We continue to wait and try to be content where God has us until He is ready for our paperwork to come through.  Again, thank you for your prayers.  You will never know how encouraging it is to know you are praying.  Until the next update we will continue ….

,

 Trusting Him,

 Bob & Gayle
